Bruno Decherf, president of the "Entrepreneurs", Business Consultancy and part of the MEDEF Douaisis, set up the 1st edition of the "Entrepeneurs Trophy" with Douaisis Initiative. The objective is to promote economic actors who helped develop the attractiveness and influence of the Douaisis.
Members of Douaisis Initiative chose 6 laureates among the companies they helped financially through unsecured loans. William Everett (on the far left), president of Dewdrops, regional leader in the treatment of radioactive wastes, had the honor to be selected.
Each laureate received a trophy designed by sculptor Bo Gao, artist from the Art School of Douai, along with a free year subscription to the MEDEF Douaisis and the Business Box of Douai.
A video recorded for the occasion and displayed during the ceremony is available here (French only).

Géraldine Dupuy, our R&D Engineer in Chemistry, was awarded the "Best of Show" Poster Presentation prize at the ICEM conference. Each day of the conference, Poster Presentations take place in the Exhibit Hall, and a Q&A time is set up to meet with the Poster Presenters. At the end of each session, 3 Poster Presentations are selected as "Best of Show". The results of Géraldine's work on the elimination of Tributylphosphate and Dodecane mixtures using AOP techniques proved to be of high interest to the audience, as was the quality of her answers to the questions they raised.
The poster can be downloaded as a PDF from the link below.

The 2011 edition of ICEM will be the 14th in this series of international conferences on environmental remediation and radioactive waste management organized by the ASME and, for this edition, coordinated by the SFEN. The biennial event will be taking place in Reims, France from September 25th to 29th where experts from the nuclear industry in over 30 countries will be able to present their experience and know-how to their peers, discuss common problems and pool solutions. Dewdrops will once more be taking part fully with a paper (session on Wednesday afternoon), a poster (session 19 on Tuesday) and a booth (n° 130 in the exhibition hall) where we can meet, share our experience and see how we can help with any problems you may have with radioactive waste oils, solvents or clean-up.

Dewdrops has taken an active part in the official French support program in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake and the subsequent catastrophe at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. Since William Everett, CEO, took part in 2 missions to Japan and a seminar in Paris, Dewdrops has been able to get a clear idea of the real needs and how we can help. Three areas of special interest have been identified and negotiations are underway to find the best solutions.
